DriveScrubber bootable disk

To wipe all the contents of a drive, DriveScrubber uses a bootable disk that runs a DOS-based program. This allows all data, including the operating system, to be erased.

You can use the DriveScrubber/System Mechanic Professional installation CD (if you purchased a CD) as the bootable disk, or you can create a bootable disk using the Create DriveScrubber boot disk wizard. Once you have a bootable disk:

  1. Put the bootable disk in the drive.

  2. Start/restart your computer.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions in the DOS application to wipe all the contents of selected drives.

The DOS application provides detailed on-screen instructions and has a Help system that contains step-by-step instructions (press F1 to open the Help). Instructions are also provided here: DriveScrubber DOS-based application.
