Overview of Wipe All Contents of a Drive wizard
Overview of Select Drive or Device screen
The system drive is the drive that contains the Windows operating system currently running (it is most commonly the C drive). The system drive will not be displayed on this screen.
If you wish to wipe the system drive, you will first create a bootable disk that you can then use to completely erase all drive contents, including the operating system. Refer to Create DriveScrubber boot disk for instructions.
If the drive or device that you want to search is not listed, it may not be properly connected or configured. The drive or device needs to be connected to your PC and configured as a drive in Windows.
Verify that the device is connected to your computer and verify that its power supply is on.
Tip: Most portable devices are bundled with drivers and other software that provide this type of connection between the device and Windows.
Tip: The Windows Device Manager provides information about how the hardware on your computer is installed and configured. More on Device Manager.
Once you have verified your connections, click Refresh drive list or Refresh device list. The drive or device should now display and be available for selection.
If you have a partitioned drive, one device will have more than one associated drive letter, for each partition. You may not see the drive letter you are looking for if you are currently viewing a list of devices, rather than a list of drives.
Click Select a drive letter to wipe and then click Refresh drive list. The drive should now display and be available for selection.
