Overview of Wipe All Contents of a Drive wizard
This screen explains that to wipe all the contents of a system drive, a bootable disk must be used. This allows all data, including the operating system, to be erased. The bootable disk can be the DriveScrubber (or System Mechanic Professional) installation CD, or you can create a bootable disk.
To continue with the process, choose one of the following:
Insert your installation CD for DriveScrubber/System Mechanic Professional in the CD drive.
Click Restart Now from this screen, or you may restart your computer as you normally would.
The DriveScrubber DOS application will load. Follow the on-screen instructions in the application to wipe all the contents of selected drives.
The DOS application provides detailed on-screen instructions and has a Help system that contains step-by-step instructions (press F1 to open the Help). Instructions are also provided here: DriveScrubber DOS-based application.
Click Create Boot Disk. The Create DriveScrubber boot disk wizard will display, allowing you to create the boot disk - click here for continuing instruction.
Note: You will need either a blank recordable/rewritable CD or a blank floppy disk to create the bootable disk.
To exit the wizard without taking any action, click Exit.
