Stay Tuned® for tip 10!
Tip 1
Expand Your PC’s Memory: Computer memory can be held captive by memory leaks and overall daily use, which can have an impact on speed. Reclaim this memory with Memory Mechanic.
Here’s how:
- Start Memory Mechanic and click Toolbox >>Individual Tools >> Maximize Performance
- Find Memory Mechanic in the list of tools and click Start
- For an ultra-deep optimization that requires a little more time, select the Perform deep memory defragmentation option located in the lower left corner of the screen
- Click Next and watch Memory Mechanic go to work
Bonus Tip: You can click the box at the bottom left of the screen for an even deeper memory reclamation.
Tip 2
Drivers, Start Your Engines: Updated device drivers keep everything connected to our PC playing nicely together, but keeping them up-to-date has been hit-or-miss until now.
Here’s how:
- Start System Mechanic and click Toolbox » Individual Tools » Maximize Performance
- Find Designated Drivers and click Start
- Follow the on-screen instructions, using the Help button for further info as needed
Bonus Tip: To finish the driver update process, it’s a good idea to restart your PC before getting back to work to ensure all changes have been applied.
Tip 3
Dump the Dead Weight: Improve computing efficiency while also freeing up storage space with CRUDD Remover™.
Here’s how:
- Start System Mechanic and click Toolbox » Individual Tools
- Find CRUDD Remover™ within Maximize Performance and click Start, then Next
- Review the list of redundant programs installed on your PC, then use the information presented to decide whether to keep or uninstall the program (or choose to decide later)
- When you’re finished, close CRUDD Remover and start enjoying a leaner, meaner machine
Tip 4
Broaden Your Bandwidth: Teach your PC to do more in less time with Program Accelerator™, a patent-pending tool that automatically re-aligns all of the programs on your hard drive for maximum efficiency.
Here’s how:
- Start System Mechanic and click Toolbox » Individual Tools » Maximize Performance
- Find Program Accelerator and click Start
- Select your drives to re-align and click Next
- Select your options and click Next to start the realignment process
Note: Re-alignment can take a while on larger hard drives (up to several hours). You can use your PC during realignment, or you can start the process before leaving the office or going to bed.
- When finished, your program files will be aligned for maximum efficiency and ultra-fast access (try starting a resource-intensive app afterward to experience the noticeable improvement)
Tip 5
Everything In Its Right Place: Through everyday use your files get broken up and stored in pieces all over the drive. Remedy this performance gridlock in a few steps using System Mechanic’s automatic defragmenter.
Here’s how:
- Start System Mechanic and click Toolbox » Individual Tools
- Find Drive Accelerator within Maximize Performance and click the Start button next to Defragment Hard Drives
- Select the drives you want to optimize and click Next
- Select your options and click Next to start the defragmentation process
Note: Defragmentation can take a while on larger hard drives (up to several hours). You can use your PC during defragmentation, or you can start the process before leaving the office or going to bed.
- Congratulations, your system is now defragmented and ready for action
Note: If you elected to have any locked files defragmented next time Windows starts, these files will be optimized when you restart your PC.
Bonus Tip: You can easily turn on automatic defragmentation. Go to Automated Tasks under ActiveCare, then enable Automatically optimize system drive.
